Basketball Court Line Painting
Full courts, school yard half courts and driveway keys, laid out to FIBA, NBA or high school sizes with taped, bleed-free edges.

Courts, fields and school yards
Kitchener Parking Lot Line Painting Pros paints regulation lines on basketball, tennis, pickleball and badminton courts, plus soccer and football fields and school yard games. We have been a dedicated line painting crew in Waterloo Region since 2015, and our court work draws on the same layout skills behind more than 550 finished jobs.
Our court clients are school boards and private schools, municipal parks departments, tennis and pickleball clubs, condo corporations with amenity courts, churches with gyms, and homeowners with a driveway or backyard slab. Every layout is measured to the sport's governing body, never traced from an old faded line.
We also match the paint to the surface. Acrylic-surfaced courts get 100% acrylic court line paint, bare asphalt gets waterborne acrylic, and grass fields get water-based turf marking paint that will not burn the grass.
Our sports services
We paint six kinds of sports and play surfaces, and each has its own page with full dimensions, paint choices and prices. Pick the sport below to see how we lay it out.

Dimensions
Every sport sets its own court size and line width, and we paint to the governing body's rulebook. The table lists the regulation sizes; youth and recreational versions are covered on each sport's page.
One detail trips up a lot of painters. Basketball measures its 28 m by 15 m court to the inside edge of the boundary line, so the line sits out of bounds, while tennis, pickleball and badminton measure to the outside edge, so their lines are in play.
| Sport | Playing area | Line width | Governing body |
|---|---|---|---|
| Basketball, international | 28 m x 15 m (91 ft 10 in x 49 ft 3 in) | 5 cm (2 in) | FIBA, followed by Canada Basketball |
| Basketball, high school | 84 ft x 50 ft (25.6 m x 15.24 m) | 2 in (5 cm) | NFHS |
| Tennis | 23.77 m x 10.97 m doubles (78 ft x 36 ft) | 2.5 to 5 cm (1 to 2 in); baseline up to 10 cm (4 in) | ITF, followed by Tennis Canada |
| Pickleball | 6.10 m x 13.41 m (20 ft x 44 ft) | 5 cm (2 in) | USA Pickleball rulebook, used by Pickleball Canada |
| Badminton | 13.40 m x 6.10 m doubles (44 ft x 20 ft) | 40 mm (about 1.5 in) | BWF, followed by Badminton Canada |
| Soccer, full size | 90 to 120 m x 45 to 90 m; 105 m x 68 m is common | Up to 12 cm (4.7 in) | IFAB Laws of the Game, Canada Soccer |
| Canadian football | 110 yd x 65 yd plus two 20 yd end zones (100.6 m x 59.4 m between goal lines) | Usually 10 cm (4 in) | Football Canada |
Surfaces and paint
The surface decides the paint, and the wrong pairing is the main reason court lines peel in their first season. We check what the court is made of before we quote.

When to book
Outdoor courts are painted roughly May to October, when air and surface are 10 C and rising, the court is dry and no rain is due for at least 4 hours. Indoor gyms can be done year-round, but most schools book them during summer or holiday shutdowns.
Clubs that open in May should book in early spring, because April to August is our busiest stretch. We travel 10 to 15 minutes to Waterloo courts, about 20 minutes to Cambridge parks and schools and about half an hour to Guelph clubs.
| Surface or venue | Best window | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Club and park tennis or pickleball courts | Late April to May, before opening day | Lines are fresh for the season and the court is closed anyway |
| School yard basketball and playground games | July and August | The yard is empty and paint cures before students return |
| Indoor school and community gyms | Summer shutdown or winter break | Fits the floor refinisher's screen and topcoat schedule |
| Grass soccer and football fields | Early May, then every visit through the season | Grass grows and is mowed, so lines need regular repaints |
| Driveway and backyard courts | June to September | Warm, dry weather gives the best cure |
Pricing
Court lines are priced per court or per field, before HST, with a $450 minimum for small jobs and touch-ups. The ranges below cover lines only; colour fills, logos and surface repairs are quoted separately, and our line painting price guide lists every other rate.
Our process
Every court or field job follows the same four stages, whatever the sport. The measuring and squaring stage takes longer than the painting, and it is the stage that makes the court play right.
You send photos and rough measurements of the court. We confirm the surface type, any cracks or peeling, and which sports need lines.
We price the lines, colours and fills, and sketch where each sport sits if the court is shared. Most quotes go out within one business day.
We snap chalk lines, check that both diagonals match so the court is square, and tape every edge before a drop of colour goes down.
Lines get two coats, tape comes off while the paint is wet, and you receive before and after photos the same day.
Free quote
Tell us the sport, the surface and the rough size of the court or field, and attach a few photos. We reply with a written quote, usually within one business day, and book outdoor courts in order through the spring rush.
